National Instruments PCI-1410 IMAQ Device

Featured with Analog area and Line-scan capabilities, the National Instruments PCI-1410 (Part Number: 779209-01) is a 4-Channel Image Acquisition Device. This monochrome, high-efficiency IMAQ Device comes with 16 MB of onboard memory that is used to store the image temporarily before it is transferred to the PCI bus. This feature allows users to buffer large size images during image acquisition. The RTSI bus incorporated in this device offers a flexible synchronization between any NI DAQ, IMAQ or motion device, and the PCI 1410. In addition, the trigger control and mapping circuitry monitors route and drive the RTSI and external trigger bus lines. Also, the device has a digitization of 8 or 10 bits and supports the formats: RS-170 or CCIR.

To remove chrominance related information from a color video signal, the IMAQ PCI-1410 has two software-selectable antichrominance filters- one for PAL signals (a 4.43 × 106 Hz notch filter) and another for NTSC signals (a 3.58 × 106 Hz notch filter). In addition, a 9 MHz lowpass filter is provided for the removal of undesired noise. The 10-Bit A/D (analog to digital converter) incorporated in this device performs the digitization of the images. The result passes to a 1024 x 10 RAM LUT. To implement simple imaging options such as contrast enhancement, gamma manipulation, data inversion, etc., users can configure the LUT as desired.

For optimizing the input range of the signals, this device has programmable offset and gain circuitry also. This model includes 4 general-purpose digital I/O lines for routine triggering and pulse generation. The NI PCI-1410 is designed for Windows-based PCs only.

The PCI-1410 is run using the NI-IMAQ driver software which is compatible with software packages or application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. The device is equipped with a BNC external connector and a 68-pin VHDCI I/O connector. The NI device weighs 0.28 lb, and measures 4.2 x 6.9 in. in physical dimensions. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of 0 to 55 °C and –20 to 70 °C respectively.

PCI-1410 Obsolete Status has been declared by National Instruments, but the device will still be available for purchase and repairs at Apex Waves.
