National Instruments PCI-6251 Multifunction DAQ Board
The National Instruments PCI-6251 (Part number: 779070-01) is a 16-bit resolution, high-speed Multifunction DAQ Board. This model offers superior accuracy at fast sampling rates around 1.25 MS/s per single channel and 1 MS per second while operating with multiple channels. The PCI-6251 supports both analog and digital triggering and comes with around 70 signal conditioning options. In addition to basic functionality, this model offers advanced features. It has an integrated NI-PGIA 2 amplifier that delivers fast setting times while operating at high scanning rates, thus ensuring 16-bit accuracy even while gauging all available channels at maximum achievable speed. The device is equipped with 16 single-ended or 8 differential input channels, 2 output channels, and 24 bi-directional channels.
The National Instruments PCI-6251 can work with multiple operating systems since it supports three driver software options: NI-DAQmx Base, Measurement Hardware DDK, and the NI-DAQmx. An application development environment (ADE) is also required for the operation of the instrument–ADEs such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio. The device software can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. For various test applications, the user can utilize the 10 MHz digital lines and high-speed analog inputs of the PCI-6251 with NI signal conditioning. This combination can also be used for sensor measurements and component characterization. This device is entirely compatible with NI SCXI and SCC signal conditioning platforms, allowing the user to achieve the required filtering and amplification for almost every type of sensor.
For actuator and relay control, the digital lines of the National Instruments PCI-6251 can drive 24 mA. With this model, the user can also clock the digital lines for up to 10 MHz. Thus, this device is a perfect solution for pulse-width modulation to control motors, fans, pumps, valves, and lamps. In addition, the available six DMA channels and two 80 MHz counters/timers can handle multiple control loops simultaneously. The device has a weight of 5.2 oz, and the dimensions: 15.5 x 9.7 cm.
PCI-6251 Legacy Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
The PCI-6251 is available to be calibrated. While the recommended calibration period for individual parts varies, most parts should be calibrated either annually or every two years to ensure accuracy. If you need the PCI-6251 calibrated, Apex Waves provides options. We offer high-quality NIST accredited calibrations through a 3rd party, with an average turnaround time of 1 to 2 weeks. When you order the PCI-6251 with us, you can request basic (unaccredited) in-house calibration that will calibrate the part to the manufacturer specifications prior to being shipped. Call or email us today for more information about calibrating the PCI-6251!
