National Instruments PXI-2527 PXI Multiplexer Switch Module

The NI PXI-2527 (Part Number: 778572-27) is a 300 V, 32-Channel, Multiplexer Switch Module that is ideal for a broad range of medium-to-high-density automated test applications. Featured with high-power, more efficient electromechanical relays, the NI PXI-2527 is the perfect front end for the range of PXI DMM modules, providing straightforward channel expansion for various measurements. This switch module supports numerous channel configurations, such as 1-wire 64 × 1, 1-wire dual 32 × 1, 2-wire 32 × 1, 2-wire 32 × 1, 4-wire 16 × 1, etc.

 For deterministic operation with hardware triggers and relay monitoring, the National Instruments PXI-2527 comes featured with onboard relay counting. This module is graded for Measurement Category I. Thus, it is expected to pass signal voltages up to 300 V. However, it can withstand up to 1500 V impulse voltages. With this module, the user can achieve 60 W, 62.5 VA (maximum) switching power per channel. In 1-wire and 2-wire configurations (with 50 Ω termination), the NI PXI-2527 provides >80 dB, > 60 dB, and >40 dB over 10 kHz, 10 kHz, and 1 MHz frequency bands respectively. The device has a maximum switch bandwidth of 30 MHz. It is equipped with a male 100 position HDI right angle I/O connector.

 This Multiplexer Switch Module has field replaceable latching electromechanical relays capable of operating within 1 ms in typical conditions. These relays have 1 x 108 cycles for their estimated time of life and the relay contact material is gold covered palladium-ruthenium. For accurate thermocouple measurements, the user can utilize the PXI-2527 in conjunction with the NI TB-2627. The NI software program provided can convert a thermocouple voltage to the thermocouple temperature.

The NI device weighs 7.4 oz., and measures 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C, and power requirements of 6 W at 5 V and 2.5 W at 3.3 V. Additionally, it has an operating random vibration of 5 to 500 Hz, 0.3 grms, and a non-operating random vibration of 5 to 500 Hz, 2.4 grms.
