The PXI-4110 (Part Numbers: 779647-10 and 779647-11) is a programmable DC Power Supply from National Instruments. This single-quadrant power supply is equipped with 3 channels, making it an excellent choice for validating designs and assembling test applications. The setting point and the reading for the voltage of the NI PXI-4110 is user-programmable, offering a customizable performance. The power supply is capable of sourcing both voltage and current from each of it’s three outputs- these channels can be consolidated by the user to achieve a higher voltage or current. The difference between the two part numbers of the programmable power supply is that part number 779647-10 is the standard version of the device, while part number 779647-11 comes with NI APS-4100 Auxiliary Power.

The three output channels of the NI PXI-4110 are labeled as Channel 0, Channel 1, and Channel 2. As a voltage source, these channels each have a distinct range and resolution. Channel 0 has a range of 6 V and a resolution of 0.12 mV, while Channel 1 has a range of 20 V and a resolution of 0.40 mV. Channel 2 has the same resolution of 0.40 mV, but it’s range is -20 V. As a current source, Channel 0 has a range of 1 A and a resolution of 0.02 mA. Channels 1 and 2 have a range of either 20 mA or 1 A with resolutions of 0.40 μA or 0.02 mA respectively. The PXI-4110 has a total output power of 9 W or 46 W.

The PXI-4110 power supply offers protections against overvoltage, safeguarding the device against potential damages. For the output channels, the overvoltage protection tolerate up to 14 VDC over the rated output. For the auxiliary power input, the device protects against overvoltage with a shut-off feature for any voltage over 15.5 VDC. The NI PXI-4110 features 2 I/O connectors: a 6-position MINI-COMBICON connector for output and a 2-position MINI-COMBICON connector for auxiliary input.

During operation, the PXI-4110 should be kept within an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C. The device measures 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm × 21.6 cm (0.8 in. × 5.1 in. × 8.5 in.) in dimensions and typically weighs 323 g.
