The NI PXI-7334 (Part Number: 778444-01) is a 4-Axis, Stepper PXI Motion Controller Module. This module is a brilliant solution to be considered for point-to-point motion applications. This module can communicate directly with image and data acquisition hardware. The National Instruments PXI-7334 Motion Controller provides utterly programmable motion control with a support for as many as four coordinated or independent axes of motion. The PXI-7334 comes with dedicated motion I/O for home and limit switches and features supplementary I/O for general purpose functions. The device is equipped with 32 digital I/O channels, and has a 12 bit input resolution. It features 8 multiplexed analog input channels, 4 analog output channels, and 4 8-bit digital I/O ports.
The NI PXI-7334 brings the ability to perform complex and arbitrary motion trajectories with the help of servo devices or stepper motors. This module can be used for a wide range of applications, such as servo valves or servo hydraulics controlling. This module comes equipped with an advanced, dual-processor based architecture. The PXI 7334 uses a Motorola MC6833 32-bit, real-time CPU in conjunction with the ADSP-2185 digital signal processor (DSP) and custom field programmable gate arrays (FPGA).
With the NI PXI-7334, the user can utilize onboard programming functions to execute a maximum of 10 concurrent programs for motion controlling in real-time, preemptively multitasking operating system environment. This module features enhanced motion profiles with PID/PIVff servo updates at a rate of 62 μs per axis. The NI PXI-7334 controller also supports the National Instruments Real-Time System Integration (RTSI) bus. Thus, the user can get several functions synchronized quickly to a common timing event or trigger across DAQ, IMAQ, or multiple motion devices. The NI instrument operates using the NI-Motion driver software which is compatible with application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI, Microsoft Visual C++, FlexMotion software, and Microsoft Visual Basic. The device can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. The instrument weighs 113 g.
PXI-7334 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the motion controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
