National Instruments 777081-01 Electromechanical Relay

Part number 777081-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments ER-16 Electromechanical Relay. The 777081-01 features 16 isolated SPDT or form C relay channels and can serve as controller or switcher for low-cost control applications in lab and industrial settings. The number of channels can also be increased to 32 by daisy chaining two relay modules. 

The maximum switching capacity on resistive load for AC is 3 A at 250 VAC whereas for DC, it is 3 A at 30 VDC. The maximum working voltage between both channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground is 250 Vrms. Furthermore, the switching current per channel is 3 A max while it is 40 A max for all channels. The channel on resistance, which is the resistance across relay contacts when the relay is activated, is 100 mΩ. Silver-nickel alloy is used as the contact material. The operate and release time of the module is 10 ms and 5 ms respectively. 

When the 777081-01 is supplied with +5 V (±5%), it draws 0.5 A for 8 channels, 1.0 A for 16 channels, 1.5 A for 24 channels, and 2.0 A for 32 channels. The module measures 6.9 by 2.05 by 4.82 in. in physical dimensions. It features DIO-24 and DIO-32 50-pin male, latching type, ribbon cable front connectors for external connection and IN and OUT 26-pin male, latching type, ribbon-cable connectors for internal connection. Similarly, there are 48 channel screw terminals that support wires up to a maximum size of 18 AWG. Moreover, the module also features 2 power supply screw terminals. 

As for the mechanical life of the 777081-01, it can undergo a minimum of 10 million operations (opening and closing). Likewise, the electrical life, which means the number of times the relay can switch on and off while carrying load, is 100,000 at rated load. The recommended temperature range for the operation of the 777081-01 is 0 °C to 50 °C at a relative humidity of up to 5% to 90% RH. On the other hand, it can be stored at a much wider range of  -55° to 150° C.
