National Instruments 781620-01 RAID Array
Part Number 781620-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments HDD-8265 RAID Array. This device is based on the PCI Express technology and only requires a RAID driver to function. When paired with the NI 8262, this device uses the PCI Express redrivers to enable control of a PCI Express RAID card in an external chassis.
The 781620-01 uses the full bandwidth of the PCI Express x4 (Generation 1) technology writing sequentially at the rates of approximately 700 Mbytes/s across the entire array. On the other hand, using RAID5, it can sustain write speeds of 500 Mbytes/s over the array. Similarly, it can sustain sequential reads at over 700 Mbytes/s for RAID0 and RAID5. Furthermore, the RAID card used in the device is ARC-1231 ML.
The 781620-01 measures 2U × 440 × 558.8 mm in physical dimensions and weighs 19.87 kg for the 6 or 12 TB variant and 20.63 kg for the 24 TB variant. The maximum cable length for the device is 3 m. The device has a power requirement specification of 100 to 240 V, 7 to 3.5 A. Likewise, it has a peak inrush power of 280 W and idle and active power of 150 W and 175 W respectively. The device and its corresponding system are preassembled and come with a default configuration. Moreover, for fault-tolerant RAID modes, you can use a battery backup module.
The 781620-01 is recommended for operation between the temperatures of 5 to 40 °C at a relative humidity of 10% to 90%. On the other hand, it can be stored between -20 to 70 °C at a relative humidity of 5% to 95%. Note that the device is meant for indoor use only and should be used within a maximum altitude of 2000 m. The acoustic emissions from this device exert a sound pressure level of 53.7 dBA at the operator position and a sound power of 60.8 dBA. The device is designed to meet the requirements of the following safety standards: IEC 60950-1, EN 60950-1, UL 60950-1, and CSA 60950-1.
