National Instruments AMUX-64T Analog Multiplexer
The AMUX-64T (Part Number: 776366-90) is an Analog Multiplexer with a temperature sensor. The NI AMUX-64T is designed and manufactured by National Instruments. Since it is a front-end analog multiplexer, the AMUX-64T can be interfaced with all NI-MIO boards, but not with the AT-MIO-64.
This Multiplexer increases the number of analog inputs by four-fold (Quadruples). The AMUX-64T has 16 separate four-to-one built-in analog multiplexer circuits, which makes it a 64-input channel device. To acquire additional inputs, up to four AMUX-64T Multiplexers can be cascaded for 256 discrete inputs by a single MIO board (or any other relevant device). The NI AMUX-64T multiplexes 32 differential or 64 analog inputs to any of the E Series data acquisition devices (60xxE) by National Instruments.
All input channels of this Multiplexer have open component positions. The positions are used to build signal processing devices, such as filters, attenuators (voltage-dividers), and for current measurement or grounding. For a low-cost thermocouple cold junction operation, any of the two inputs can be deployed (differentially) to use internally integrated temperature sensor circuitry. The NI AMUX-64T can be duly configured to draw power from the MIO board to get power from any external voltage source of a +5V supply. A maximum of four AMUX-64T devices can be cascaded to increase the thermocouple inputs to 124 (differential-mode) or to 248 (single-ended mode). The red LED provided on the AMUX-64T turns on when power is supplied and turns off otherwise. The NI AMUX-64T can be mounted on a standard 19-inch rack or positioned on any worktable.
