National Instruments APS-4100 Auxiliary Power Supply
The APS-4100 Auxiliary Power Supply (Part Number: 779671-01) is a front panel-connected auxiliary direct current power supply source that can be used to provide external power to the NI PXI programmable power supply configurations.
The APS-4100 is suitable for applications in which the PXI configuration’s available and internally generated power is not sufficient. To use the APS-4100 Auxiliary Power Supply to power a PXI assembly, connect the outbound connections to the front panel of the PXI power module. The APS-4100 functions within the following input specifications: 100 to 240 VAC and 47 to 63 Hz. The APS-4100 functions within the following output specifications: 12 VDC, up to 5 A, up to 60 W, and temperature range of 0 to 55 C. Users will need to purchase an input power cord that is not included with the APS-4100 Auxiliary Power Supply part. When using the APS-4100 to externally power the PXI power supply module, all the PXI channels may be operated at a full power state of 1 A per channel for an overall maximum power output of 46 W.
The NI PXI is a programmable power supply that is used for testing, manufacturing, and design validation purposes. The PXI configurations have multiple current modes and internal power from the PXI backplane. Oftentimes, in large and technically expansive design and manufacturing applications, the PXI backplane’s internal power is insufficient. To meet the power demands of such applications, National Instruments engineered the APS-4100 Auxiliary Power Supply to optimize the configuration’s power and satisfy design requirements.
The APS-4100 Auxiliary Power Supply is specially engineered for use with the PXI power systems and in applications with high power demands. The achieve the full maximum 46W power output from the NI PXI configuration, the APS-4100 must be used. The APS-4100 Auxiliary Power Supply accommodates high power demand applications.
