It can also be used as a cost-effective, high-efficiency arbitrary waveform generator capable of generating waveforms up to 500 kHz. This allows the device to produce common waveforms such as sine, square, and complex waveforms. The NI 778705-01 is equipped with a double-buffered, voltage-type DAC. 

It features a FIFO buffer size of 2,047 samples and supports three DMA channels. Data transfers can be managed through DMA, interrupts, or programmed I/O, with DMA operating in scatter-gather mode. The device offers a ±10 V range with DC output coupling. It has a maximum output impedance of 0.1 Ω and can drive a current of up to ±5 mA. Additionally, this device experiences a channel-to-channel update glitch with a magnitude of 100 mV and a duration of 1.2 µs. The channel-to-channel update glitch is an energy glitch that occurs on all channels when a channel is updated. For instance, if you update the value of Channel 7, all other channels will experience this glitch, even if their output voltages do not change.
