National Instruments 779347-01 Connector Block
Part Number 779347-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments BNC-2111 Connector Block. The 779347-01 can support a maximum voltage of 42 V. The block measures (7.5 by 4.125 by 1.38 in.) with a metal enclosure and (7.4 by 3.5 by 1.982 in.) without the metal enclosure. There is a 68-pin male connector for I/O and 24 BNC connectors.
To set up and use the 779347-01, you will need the following: the official installation guide, appropriate cables to connect to the DAQ device, and an M Series or E Series Multifunction DAQ device. To connect the block to the DAQ device, you must first place the connector block near the host computer or use the optional DIN rail mounting kit. Now, keeping the DAQ device powered off, the connector block is connected to the DAQ device with an appropriate cable. This is followed by checking whether the input signals are floating source or ground-referenced. Depending on the type of input signals, the RSE/NRSE switch must be set correctly and this should also be configured properly in software. After the device has been properly configured, field signals can be connected to the BNC connectors. Then, you may launch MAX to see if the device is recognized and then configure the device settings. Testing of specific device functionality can then be carried out.
The 779347-01 is recommended for operation in between temperatures of 0 to 55 °C while it can be stored at a much wider range of –55 to 125 °C. Note that it is designed for indoor use only and has a maximum altitude of 2000 m. The block meets the requirements of the following standards for safety and electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1. Note that the device only supports a maximum voltage of 42 V and any voltages greater than this can damage the device or cause electric shocks.
