National Instruments 779020-03 C Series Module Development Kit

Part Number 779020-03 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments cRIO-9951 C Series Module Development Kit. The 779020-03 is a kit used to develop CompactRIO modules and comes with the CompactRIO Module Development Kit (MDK) suite. To use the CompactRIO MDK, you will need the following software: LabVIEW 2017 SP1, LabVIEW FPGA Module 2017, LabVIEW Real-Time Module 2017, CompactRIO Device Drivers 17.6, CompactRIO Module Support 4.0.1, and CompactRIO Module Development Kit 2.1. 

The MDK featured in the 779020-03 consists of two main software components. The first component is known as the C Series Communication Core and it communicates the C Series Module Hardware. It is an IP block that provides software interfaces conforming to the C Series architecture specification and allows you to write VIs that communicate with your module. The interfaces exposed by the C Series Communication Core are the command interface, Timing interface, Status interface, DIO0 through DIO8 (digital lines),  DIO (7:0) (digital port), Configuration interface, and Debug interface.

The second software component of the 779020-03 allows third-party module developers to script their own Module Support VIs beneath the I/O, method, and property nodes. Furthermore, I/O, method, and property nodes make up the end-user API, which offers the user a versatile interface compatible with NI modules.
