National Instruments 779372-01 Voltage Input Module

National Instruments manufactures the 779372-01, popularly referred to as the NI-9201, a cost-effective and adaptable C Series Voltage Input Module. This module is an affordable option for a multipurpose system since it combines a high channel count with speed. Accurate voltage readings are guaranteed by the 779372-01, which has eight channels and a 12-bit ADC resolution. For a variety of data gathering applications, it uses an ADC of the Successive Approximation Register (SAR) type.

The 779372-01 is capable of handling a broad spectrum of input voltages; its usual measurement voltage is ±10.53 V channel-to-COM, and its measurement range is ±10.3V to ±10.8V. Up to ±100 V of overvoltage protection is included into every channel to ensure durability and dependability even in the event of erroneous signal connections or unanticipated signal spikes.

Designed for efficiency, the 779372-01 supports a low-power sleep mode, though this is contingent on the chassis it is integrated into. When in sleep mode, the system uses the least amount of power—only 1 mW—and releases the least amount of heat—32 mW. The module dissipates the same amount of heat and uses up to 1 W of electricity while in active mode.

This module is robust, capable of being stored at temperatures between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius, and it functions well in a temperature range of -40 to 70 degrees Celsius. It may be kept between 5% and 95% RH and runs (non-condensing) in humidity ranges between 10% and 90% RH. The 779372-01 is appropriate for a range of industrial settings because it has an IP40 ingress protection grade and a Pollution Degree of 2. It is operational up to 2,000 meters above sea level.

In terms of shock and vibration resistance, the 779372-01 can tolerate operational vibrations in both random and sinusoidal situations up to 5 g RMS from 10 Hz to 500 Hz. Additionally, it experiences 18 operating shocks in six orientations at 30 g for 11 ms in half sine and 50 g for 3 ms in half sine.
