The 781068-01, a multifunctional combination voltage and current input module intended for industrial applications, is a member of the NI-9207 series. By integrating two of the most popular input types, this module minimizes the need for several modules, which lowers system cost and space. It features eight current input channels of +20 mA and eight voltage input channels of +10 V. High measurement precision and dependability are guaranteed by the 781068-01 module's 24-bit resolution and integrated 50/60 Hz noise suppression.
This module can be used with different cabling and connector blocks because it provides communication via a normal 37-pin DSUB or a 36-pin spring terminal. It is ideal for applications needing accurate data capture because of its 500 samples per second (S/s) sampling rate. By offering high-resolution data, the Delta-Sigma ADC type improves the performance of the module.
In high-resolution mode, the 781068-01 takes 52 ms per channel for conversion; while the high-speed mode reduces this time to 2 ms per channel. The voltage channel gain drift of +21 ppm/°C and offset drift of +14 μV/°C guarantee strong performance from the module. Gain drift is +43 ppm/°C and offset drift is +30 nA/°C.°C for current channels.
Within a temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C, the 781068-01 functions efficiently, as it is built to endure harsh industrial settings. It can withstand shocks up to 50 g and vibrations up to 5 g. To improve safety and dependability, the module offers channel-to-earth isolation, rated at 250V RMS, CAT II for the spring terminal, and 60V DC, CAT I for the DSUB.
The module's power consumption decreases to 25 μW in sleep mode from a high of 295 mW in active mode. At -40 °C, its thermal dissipation is 0.59 W in sleep mode and 0.75 W in active mode.
