It features two-phase current control with adjustable current levels and durations for precise control of injection timing. Each PFI channel optionally supports recirculation at the end of the pulse, enhancing fuel management flexibility. The module also includes four channels for general purpose drivers (low-side solenoid), capable of handling continuous duty up to 1.5 A. These drivers are PWM controlled with a wide range of operation from 0% to 100% duty cycle and can operate at frequencies ranging from 2 Hz to 10 kHz with a resolution of 500 ns

Both PFI and solenoid channels feature open and short circuit detection mechanisms with the ability to disable outputs in case of faults. It operates with an external power supply ranging from 7 V to 32 V, ensuring compatibility with various automotive power systems. The NI 782080-01 module integrates four port fuel injector drivers and four general purpose low-side solenoid drivers within a compact NI CompactRIO format. Power for the NI 9758 is sourced from two distinct connections: a 15-pin D-SUB (HD15) connector and an external screw-terminal connector. This dual power input setup facilitates robust operation and flexibility in various automotive control applications.
