National Instruments ENET-9163 Wireless/Ethernet Carrier

Featured with Ethernet connectivity and 2 digital PFI lines, the ENET-9163 (Part Numbers: 780501-01, ) is a Single Module Carrier Device from National Instruments. This Wireless/Ethernet Carrier is designed to be used with C Series RTDs, microphones, accelerometers, thermocouples, current transducers, strain gages, and more. There are more than 50 C Series modules available with integrated signal conditioning and direct sensor connections for a broad range of measurements, including strain, current, temperature, voltage, and accelerations. With this Wireless/Ethernet Carrier, you can use different modules interchangeably for versatile control and measurement applications across several platforms, including CompactRIO and CompactDAQ. The NI ENET-9163 and C Series modules are also offered as ENET-9xxx devices.  

This Wireless/Ethernet Carrier offers fast connectivity over Ethernet – one of the finest methods available for PC-based data acquisition. The ENET 9163 requires a standard Category 5 Ethernet cable to connect to an Ethernet network. You must connect one end of the cable to the standard RJ-45 Ethernet port provided on the rear side of the devices and the other end to your computer or to an Ethernet switch or hub. The device has an analog input FIFO size of 4095 samples> 16 bits and 8191 samples ≤ 16 bits, and a maximum sampling rate of 5 MS/s.

The NI ENET-9163 features a sophisticated analog input timing controller. Synchronization and timing signals can be accessed through the PFI lines. You can perform analog input measurements by inserting a compatible C Series analog input I/O module into the carrier. All the measurement specifications such as channel configuration, the number of channels, gain, and sample rate are automatically determined by the C Series module used. The NI ENET 9163 is designed to be used for infinite, continuous, and single-point input applications. The NI device weighs 8.5 oz, and measures 7.18 x 3.75 x 1.50 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C, and a storage temperature range of –10 to 70 °C.

ENET-9163 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the carrier will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
