National Instruments NI-9201 C Series Voltage Input Module
Featuring a compelling combination of speed and channel count, the National Instruments NI-9201 (Part Numbers: 783730-01, 779013-01, 779372-01 and 189880-51) is a ±10 V, 8 single-ended analog input channel, 12-Bit, C Series Voltage Input Module. It has a maximum sampling rate of 500 kS/s. This model comes with up to 100 V of integrated overvoltage protection for individual signals or erratic signal connections to the individual channels. The NI-9201 comes equipped with a 12-bit, Successive approximation register (SAR) ADC for analog to digital conversion.
The input range of this module is ±10 V; it comes with channel-to-COM overvoltage protection set at ±100 V. In typical operating conditions, an adequately calibrated NI 9201 can operate with ±0.04% gain error and ±0.07% offset error. As far as its stability performance is concerned, this module can operate with ±34 ppm/°C gain drift and ±100 μV/°C offset drift. While operating in active mode, the NI-9201 consumes 1 watt of maximum power. In sleep mode, this C Series Voltage Input Module consumes 1 mW.
By terminal type, the NI-9201 is available in multiple variations: with a screw terminal (part number 779013-01), a spring terminal (part number 783730-01), or a DSUB connector (part number 779372-01). Part Number 189880-51 refers to the OEM model of the NI-9201. Since it is a Measurement Category II device, this module is designed to handle up to 250 Vrms constant voltage. However, it is tested to withstand 2,300 Vrms of instantaneous or surge voltages. This module is considered a reliable one since it comes with 1,092,512 hours MTBF (mean time between failures) score. The National Instruments NI-9201 module is compatible with the NI 9927 backshell kit that can be used for applications where high-vibrations are inevitable.
The NI 9201 is run using the NI-DAQmx driver software which is compatible with application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, C/C++, C#, and Visual Basic .NET. The chassis has a power consumption of 1 W maximum when in active mode, and 1 mW maximum when in sleep mode.
The screw terminal fitted model of the device weighs 5.8 oz, the spring terminal model weighs 5.4 oz, while the DSUB model weighs 5.0 oz. It has a recommended operating temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C.
