National Instruments NI-9326 C Series Frequency Input Module
Designed for CompactRIO and CompactDAQ systems, the NI-9326 (part numbers: 786999-01, 786999-02) from National Instruments is an isolated frequency input module with channel-to-channel capabilities. The 6 input channels of the module can be configured as either differential or single-ended, and they feature an input range of 0 Vrms to 150 Vrms. The NI-9326 module is available in two variations- the difference being that part number 786999-01 is the standard variation of the device, while part number 786999-02 is the conformal coated version of the device.
The NI-9326 is equipped with 6 embedded counters that facilitate frequency measurements and utilize edge-counting to track the total counts on a periodic signal. Additionally, low-noise frequency measurements are made possible with customizable Butterworth filters. The counters of the NI-9326 frequency input module boast 32 bits of resolution and feature a maximum sample rate of 102.4 kHz.
The power consumption from the chassis of the NI-9326 reaches a maximum of 0.89 W when in active mode and a maximum of 53 μW when in sleep mode. These maximum power consumption levels are raised to 1.44 W for active mode and 0.66 W for sleep mode when thermal dissipation is used at 70 °C.
The copper conductor screw-terminal wiring of the NI-9326 has a gauge measurement of 26 AWG to 14 AWG, with 13 mm (0.51 in.) of insulation stripped from the end of the wire. There is only one wire per screw terminal of the module unless a 2 wire ferrule is used- and the torque is 0.5 N · m to 0.6 N · m (4.4 lb · in. to 5.3 lb · in.). For best results, the NI-9326 should be operated in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 70 °C. When not in use, the module can be securely stored in temperatures that range from -40 °C to 85 °C. The frequency input module weighs a total of 170 g (6.0 oz).
