The NI 9426 is a 32 Digital Input Channel, 500 µs, Sourcing Input, Digital Module that can be used for low cost cabling with an extensive range of industrial equipment from National Instruments and other vendors. This Digital Module would require a 37-pin D-SUB connector or an accessory kit such as the NI 9933 to establish a direct connection. The NI 9426 C Series Digital Module meets the high-precision requirements for advanced data collection and management of measurement, control, and communication applications. The NI 9426 is designed for CompactDAQ and CompactRIO systems.
There are two part numbers for the NI 9426. Part number 780030-01 is conformal coated and part number 780030-02 is not conformal coated. Both versions of the module are enclosed, have 60 VDC Ch-Earth Ground Isolation, and all other specifications are the same. The device has a Vsup-to-channel voltage of 30 VDC maximum, and has an input impedance of 30 kΩ (±5%).
When this module is used in CompactRIO, the user can create high-performance embedded systems by connecting directly to a reprogrammable I/O FPGA. The reprogrammable FPGA feature of this hardware presents users with a wide array of options for digital communication and waveform measurements, timing, triggering, and synchronization. The NI-9426 can be programmed using software packages such as the LabVIEW Professional Development System for Windows, the NI LabVIEW FPGA Module, and the NI LabVIEW Real-Time Module.
In active and sleep modes, this Digital Module consumes up to 615 mW, and 5 mW respectively. This module has an input voltage >1.9 V, input current >65 μA, input impedance at 30 kΩ ±5%, and a maximum update time of 7 μs. The NI 9426 module can initiate communication with a host computer with USB, Ethernet, and 802.11 Wi-Fi connectivity.
The NI device weighs 5.2 oz. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of -40 °C to 70 °C and -40 °C to 85 °C, non-condensing operating and storage humidity ranges of 10% RH to 90% RH and 5% RH to 95% RH, random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz.
