National Instruments sbRIO-9505 C Series Motor Drive Module
Designed to provide unique customization and flexibility, the NI sbRIO-9505 (Part Number: 781122-01) is a C Series Motor Drive Module. A combination of the LabVIEW FPGA Module and this module can help users create a highly customizable actuator amplifier or motor drive.
The sbRIO-9505 returns the actuator or motor current data to the software for monitoring or use in a current loop. Moreover, the module also provides status information, such as emergency stop status, VSUP presence, and the drive’s fault status for the system’s health monitoring. In typical configurations, a PWM signal proportional to the desired torque or current is generated by LabVIEW FPGA and supplied to the NI sbRIO-9505.
This module comes with a 9-pin D-SUB female connector. This front connector provides a +5 V power connection for the encoder, connections for the encoder inputs, an emergency stop input connection, and a connection to common “COM.” This Brushed DC Servo Drive features a screw terminal connector as well. The screw terminal connector provides power connections to a DC brushed servo motor and a DC motor.
This C Series Motor Drive Module supports single-ended and differential inputs for Index, Phase A, and Phase B signals. These signals are raw digital input signals used for velocity and position feedback. This module is designed to supply 1 ampere continuous motor current and 12 A maximum motor DC supply. The NI sbRIO-9505 can operate at a minimum pulse width of 2 µs and with a drive direction update rate of 20 µs.
sbRIO-9505 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
