National Instruments 780341-01 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module

The National Instruments 777318-421, also referred to as the cFP-RLY-421, is an 8-channel Form A relay output module intended for use with Compact FieldPoint systems. This module includes 1.5 A single-pole, single-throw (SPST) Form A relays that are nonlatching and designed to switch loads and general-purpose signaling. The 77318-421 offers improved safety and dependability with transient isolation between output channels and the backplane.

Because the 777318-421 relay module is plug-and-play (HotPnP) compatible, installation is simple and the setup software can recognize it automatically. For a range of industrial applications, including power circuits, motors, and indicator lights, this adaptable module can regulate digital signals with a voltage range of low to 120 VDC and 250 VAC. By giving users insightful information about the module's performance and state, onboard diagnostics in the module contribute to trouble-free installation and maintenance.

The 777318-421's integrated module-to-module isolation, which shields the Compact FieldPoint system's controller from high voltage levels, is one of its most notable characteristics. This part employs electrically isolated output relays for every channel, guaranteeing that every relay output has its own ground plane. This enables the use of various voltage potentials for each channel; for example, one channel on the same module may be connected to 24 VDC and another to 250 VAC. In addition, every channel has LEDs installed to show the output state, giving users a clear visual representation of the module's functionality.

Along with having 2,300 V rms of breakdown isolation and double insulation for up to 250 V rms of operational isolation, the 777318-421 module also has optical bank isolation. With the cFP-CB-1 connector block in particular, these qualities allow the Compact FieldPoint system to be used safely in situations where there are potentially dangerous voltages. It is noteworthy, therefore, that channel-to-channel isolation is not provided by these modules.
Due to its high-power consumption, the device may limit the number of I/O modules that can be connected to a single network interface module. I/O modules are powered by up to 9 W from controllers and network interface modules, whereas the 777318-421 needs up to 2.5 W.
