National Instruments cFP-DIO-550 Digital I/O Module for Compact FieldPoint
The cFP-DIO-550 (Part numbers: 777318-550, 190993G-02L) is a Digital I/O Module for Compact FieldPoint designed by National Instruments. This module features digital inputs and output terminals. Thus, the DIO module offers the functions of two modules in a single device. The output channels of the module are configurable. The NI cFP-DIO-550 gives the flexibility to turn on output terminals only when a specific combination of input terminals is matched. The DIO module can interface with sensors. The DIO module can also remove noise from the signal. An input filter is available in the cFP-DIO-550 to reject noise. This filter is selectable and the user has the option to use it or disable it.
The cFP-DIO-550 Digital I/O Module has eight digital input terminals. This module supports three types of inputs: differential, sourcing, and sinking. The digital logic level range of the DIO module is 11 VDC – 30 VDC. The input current is 7 mA, it has an input current of 7 mA maximum, and an input delay time of 100 us maximum. The maximum delay time at the input is 100 µs. Each of its input channels can be configured to operate in standard/latch made using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. The module also features eight digital output terminals. The output channels only support sourcing type. The range of the supply voltage of the cFP-DIO-550 is 10 V to 30 V. The output voltage is based on the current and impedance. The current that can safely pass through the output channels is up to 250 mA. The NI cFP-DIO-550 has a maximum output impedance of 200 mΩ. The output channels are protected against short circuit. The device weighs 4.0 oz.
The cFP-DIO-550 module supports the Windows operating system. LabVIEW RT is also supported by the module. The power requirement of the cFP-DIO-550 is 600 mW. It has a recommended storage temperature range of 45 to 85 °C, an operating temperature range of –40 to 70 °C at an input voltage of 25 V, and one of –40 to 50 °C at an input voltage of –40 to 50 °C.

National Instruments cFP-DIO-550 Frequently Asked Questions
Question: My NI cFP-DIO-550 will not power up. All the status LEDs on the module flash dimly and then go dark. What should I do to fix this?
Answer: If your NI cFP-DIO-550 will not power up, move it to a different slot on the backplane and double check any power supply connections/voltages to the module. If it still doesn't work, it may be damaged.
Question: How do I read and write at different times with the cFP-DIO-550?
Answer: To read and write at different times with the cFP-DIO-550, you need to create an item in MAX in the Data Neighborhood under the cFP-DIO-550 module and configure it to use all the I/O on the module.
Question: How do I connect the cFP-DIO-550 with a cFP-CB?
Answer: To connect the cFP-DIO-550 to a cFP-CB, the cFP-DIO-550 can be set to I/O logic levels of 12 or 24V DC.
