National Instruments cDAQ-9136 CompactDAQ Controller
The cDAQ-9136 is a quad-core CompactDAQ Controller by National Instruments. The cDAQ-9136 is available in two versions with different OS. Part number 784238-01 has Windows Embedded Standard 7 installed, and part number 784239-01 has Linux Real-Time installed. This model can control synchronization and timing functions and is also used to transfer data between C Series devices and a computer. The cDAQ-9136 is a 4-slot DAQ Controller, so four C Series I/O modules can be connected simultaneously. This feature enables the customization of digital and analog channels and timers/counters to design custom CAN measurement and logging systems.
The cDAQ-9136 CompactDAQ Controller features a quad-core Intel Atom E3845 processor. The CPU frequency is 1.91 GHz, and it has a 32 GB SSD for storage. The on-die L2 cache of the cDAQ-9136 processor has a memory of 2 MB. This model features an internal real-time clock with 200 ppm accuracy. The cDAQ-9136 features analog inputs. The number of channels and maximum rate of sampling depends upon the C Series module(s). This module has a timing accuracy of 50 ppm for the analog inputs. The maximum update rate is 1.6 MS/s (aggregate, multi-channel). This model supports non-periodic waveform, periodic waveform regeneration from onboard memory, and periodic waveform regeneration from the host buffer with dynamic update.
The cDAQ-9136 CompactDAQ Controller incorporates many ports/terminals for different functions. This model has 2 Ethernet ports that support the network interface. These ports are IEEE 802.3 compatible, with communication rates of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1000 Mbps auto-negotiated. The cDAQ-9136 also has an RS-232 port for serial communication, which can sustain up to ±24 V of overvoltage. The module has two USB host ports (standard A connectors) and one USB device port (standard B connector). These USB ports have a Hi-Speed 2.0 interface, with a maximum data rate of 480 Mb/s.
The NI device weighs 4 lb 1.3 oz (1.85 kg) and measures 8.64 x 3.47 x 4.67 in. in physical dimensions. It has a maximum power consumption of 40 W, with a voltage input range of 9 to 30 V. Additionally, the controller has a recommended operating temperature range of -20 to 55 °C and a storage temperature range of -40 to 85 °C.
