National Instruments cRIO-9030 CompactRIO Controller
The cRIO-9030 (Part number: 783450-01, 156502C-11L) is an advanced CompactRIO Controller manufactured by National Instruments. This model is equipped with a 1.33 GHz dual core intel atom processor and a Kintex-7 70T FPGA. This model is embedded with the NI Linux Real-Time operating system. It is also structured with an embedded user interface capability. The NI cRIO-9030 has a mini display port which has a resolution of 2560 × 1600 at 60 Hz. This feature helps simplify the application development by adding a local human interface. The rugged Controller is also equipped with an SDHC slot, which can write to and read from NI-approved SD cards. Connectivity is made easier than ever with the variety of ports the device has.
The NI cRIO-9030 has 2 RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports, both of which can obtain an IP address automatically. These ports are configurable in MAX. The connector of the Controller can be connected with either a primary or secondary power supply. The cRIO-9030 comes with a reserve voltage protection feature. When power is applied to both inputs (V1 and V2), the cRIO-9030 CompactRIO Controller operates from the V1 input. In case of an insufficient supply, the Controller starts to operate from the V2 input.
The cRIO-9030 also comes with a USB port to support mass storage devices like USB-to-IDE adapters and USB cameras. It also supports USB Flash drives, keyboards, and a mouse. The cRIO-9030 USB device port is used for device configuration and debugging. It is also intended for application deployment and maintenance. The device is equipped with a 4 GB hard drive and 1 GB RAM. It supports GigE Vision and is viable for unconventional monitoring and control applications.
When unloaded, the NI Controller measures dimensions of 8.64 in. × 3.47 in. × 4.30 in. (219.5 mm × 88.1 mm × 109.2 mm) and weighs 3 lbs, 15 oz (1,800 g). The maximum power consumption is 40 W, and the recommended power supply is 100 W, 24 VDC. Connectors are secured with provided screw flanges, which have a torque of 0.20 N · m to 0.25 N · m (1.8 lb · in. to 2.2 lb · in.). The operating temperature range for the cRIO-9030 spans from -20 °C to 55 °. When not in use, the storage temperature range for the device measures from -40 °C to 85 °C.
