Featured with 3 FireWire Inputs and unprecedented I/O capabilities, the NI CVS-1456 (Part Number: 778986-01) is a Compact Vision System. This rugged model is designed for intense industrial environments where real-time product inspection remains a challenging task. The NI CVS 1456 works on IEEE 1394 technology with 3 ports and a speed of 100, 200, or 400 Mbps. It is a technology which supports a broad range of off-the shelve sensors. Thus, users can choose and use the most suitable camera according to their requirements. Moreover, this vision system allows users to connect as many as three sensors since there are three FireWire ports available. The device has a typical processor performance of 1623 MIPS.
To program the CVS-1456 quickly, the user can utilize the National Instruments Vision Builder AI. This model comes featured with a processor that can process 1623 MIPS (millions instructions per second) and 256 MB of nonvolatile storage. Thus, it is the most powerful model from the National Instruments CVS-145X product line. The CVS-1456 comes with remarkable digital I/O capabilities and integrated functionality for interfacing with various external devices. In total, there are 13 isolated digital inputs, 4 isolated digital outputs, two dedicated TTL inputs, and 10 dedicated TTL output lines. In addition, there are integrated Ethernet and RS232 Serial ports. The device hardware can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
This compact vision system can easily connect to a Compact FieldPoint based system directly. Thus, users can interface digital measurement inputs, analog signals, and various other types of DCS signals with the NI CVS-1456 Compact Vision System. This system enables users for real-time visual monitoring of their products under inspection with an integrated VGA port. Apart from common digital I/O ports, the CVS-1456 has independent ports to accommodate 1 digital input and 2 digital output signals.
The NI device weighs 2.15 lbs., and measures 4 x 5 x 2.5 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C when in a vertical mounting position, 0 to 45 °C in other positions, a storage temperature range of –20 to 85 °C.
