National Instruments CF-6004 Data Acquisition Device
The CF-6004 Data Acquisition (DAQ) device from National Instruments provides a small but effective handheld measurement platform. Its dimensions are less than 16 cm². NI CF-6004 incorporates full measurement functionality into a Type II CompactFlash slot that is compatible with many PDAs. It has an aggregate sampling rate of up to 132 kS/s over four analog input channels and 14-bit resolution. The combination of several handheld instruments and unique handheld measurement, analysis, and communication activities are among the portable applications for which this device is perfect.
A multiplatform driver that includes a portion of the NI-DAQmx programming interface is included with the CF-6004 software, called NI-DAQmx Base. With the NI LabVIEW PDA module for PocketPC, this software works especially well for creating personalized handheld DAQ applications. Three connection possibilities (SH-15-15-B for direct signal connections or customized connectors, and SH-15-15 for attaching to one of two connector blocks) further augment the CF-6004's adaptability.
The DIO port of the device consists of four digital lines that are labeled PFI <0..3>. These push-pull connections can operate at 3.3 volts. Digital signals can be monitored and controlled by each digital line's ability to operate as a static digital input (DI) or digital output (DO) line. Software timing is used for all static DI line samples and DO line updates, giving exact control and monitoring capabilities.
The NI CF-6004 is frequently used in PDAs for wearable and biomedical computing, field monitoring and diagnostics, and portable data logging and analysis. Because of its portability and tiny size, it is especially useful in scenarios where compactness and economy are essential.
With its four single-ended analog input channels and its successive approximation ADC with 14-bit resolution, the CF-6004 ensures dependable and accurate data gathering. With an integral nonlinearity (INL) within ±1 least significant bit (LSB), it ensures that there are no missing codes with a differential nonlinearity (DNL) specification.
Four programmable lines that can each be independently programmed as an input or output are part of the digital I/O capabilities. Push-pull output drivers that work with both LVTTL and 3.3 V LVCMOS are available. When powered on, the gadget operates at high impedance input, which guarantees low interference. Programed I/O is used to manage data transfers, and it has an absolute maximum voltage range of –0.5 V to 4 V. This ensures reliable operation under a variety of operating situations.
