National Instruments USB-6423 USB Data Acquisition Device

The National Instruments USB-6423 (part number: 789882-01) is a versatile USB DAQ (Data Acquisition) Device from the mioDAQ series. Designed to handle even the most demanding test and measurement applications, this device has 32 single ended (or 16 differential) analog input channels with 16 bits of ADC resolution. The USB DAQ device also features 4 analog output channels (with 16 bits of DAC resolution) and 16 Digital I/O channels. The digital I/O channels of the USB-6423 are capable of operating as PFI, Waveform Digital I/O, Static Digital I/O, Timer, Counter, and Trigger I/O that is configurable per line. It is possible to program each terminal separately as either input or output.

The USB-6423 is a mioDAQ device with four counters and USB Type-C bus power. The analog output channels are capable of outputting ± 10 V with update rates of 250 kS/s/ch. The analog input channels have four input range choices, from ± 200 mV to ± 10 V. The USB-6423 digital I/O channels can be used as triggers, clocks, or I/O for the four onboard counters, or they can be utilized as hardware-timed channels up to 10 MHz or static input/output channels. In addition, the USB-6423 DAQ Device has published APIs and examples for LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, and NI's free data collecting program FlexLogger Lite.

The power source of the device measures +5 V, and the maximum current ranges from +4.76 V to 5.17 V. Additionally, the I/O connector features two Spring Terminals with 36-positions. The USB-6423 weighs an easily manageable 590 g (1.30 lb), and its physical dimensions are 116.7 mm x 177.0 mm x 30.4 mm (4.59 in. x 6.97 in. x 1.20 in.). This DAQ device should be kept between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius when in operation, with a noncondensing operating humidity spanning from 10% to 90%. It may be securely kept at storage temperatures between -20°C and 70°C with a noncondensing storage humidity range of 5% to 95% when not in use. It is advised to get the DAQ device calibrated every two years, and to allow it to warm up for fifteen minutes before use.
