This device requires power consumption of +5 VDC at a typical 250 mA current and +3.3 VDC at a typical 300 mA current.

The 779084-01 model also include programmable power-up states, ensuring that outputs assume a known state during initialization, and a typical propagation delay of 80 microseconds with a 100 ohm load, which is essential for timing sensitive applications. The device supports both interrupts and programmed I/O data transfers, offering flexibility in how data is managed and processed and with these, it reduces the load on CPU by eliminating the need for constant polling and allows the system to respond quickly to real-time events.
