National Instruments AT-MIO-16XE-50 Multifunction DAQ
The NI AT-MIO-16XE-50 (Part Number: 776910-01) utilizes E Series technology to provide dependable data acquisition features which meet a variety of application standards. This instrument can stream to disk at a maximum rate of 20 kS/s, depending on the user’s hard drive. There are two 24-bit counter/timers, 8 digital I/O channels, two 12-bit analog outputs, and a digital triggering feature on this device. The device has 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels with a resolution of 16 bits. This high-performance Multifunction Device is designed for the PC AT series computers. This device comes with traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) driver software and can be programmed with software packages or application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio for VB and VS .NET.
The AT-MIO-16XE-50 can be swiftly calibrated and configured with software since it does not have potentiometers, jumpers, or DIP switches. The DAQ-PnP bus interface chip links this device to the AT I/O bus, making this device switchless and jumperless. The DAQ-PnP utilizes the Plug and Play ISA Specification so the DMA, base I/O addresses, and interrupts can be configured via software. This feature enables the user to modify the AT-MIO-16XE-50 Multifunction Device’s configuration without needing to take it out of the computer. This device can be used for the following applications: effortlessly modifying the sampling rate, buffered pulse creation, and equivalent time sampling. It is equipped with a 68-pin male SCSI-II type I/O connector.
With the NI AT-MIO-16XE-50, the user can interface to an SCXI system, so the user can obtain more than 3,000 analog signals from thermocouples, strain gauges, current sources, RTDs, and voltage sources. The user can additionally obtain or create digital signals for communication, as well as control. The multifunction device has a power requirement of +5 VDC at 0.75 A, and the power available at the I/O connector is +4.65 VDC to +5.25 VDC at 1 A.
The NI device measures 13.3 x 3.9 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55° C, a storage temperature range of –55 to 150° C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5% to 90%.

National Instruments AT-MIO-16XE-50 Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Can dither be deactivated on the AT-MIO-16XE-50?
Answer: No, the user cannot deactivate dither on the AT-MIO-16XE-50 since the resolution of the ADC is so fine that the ADC and the PGIA generate 0.5 LSB rms of noise. This is equal to having a dither circuit that is always activated.
Question: What is the analog output range of the NI AT-MIO-16XE-50?
Answer: The NI AT-MIO-16XE-50 has an analog output range of ±10 V.
Question: What types of data transfers does the AT-MIO-16XE-50 have available?
Answer: The AT-MIO-16XE-50 has DMA, programmed I/O, and interrupts for data transfers.
Question: What is the configuration memory size on the NI AT-MIO-16XE-50?
Answer: The configuration memory size on the NI AT-MIO-16XE-50 is 512 words.
