National Instruments FP-RTD-124 RTD and Resistance Input Module
The NI FP-RTD-124 (Part Number: 777318-124) is an RTD and Resistance Input Module for FieldPoint. This module features eight inputs for 2-wire and 4-wire resistance thermal detectors (RTDs). Each input channel on this module has four terminals: positive sensing input, negative sensing input, excitation output, and common input. With this module, the user can acquire data scaled to resistance or temperature.
The NI FP-RTD-124 comes with integrated linearization algorithms for 100 Ω or 1000 Ω nominal resistance platinum RTDs and 6 TCR values as well. This RTD Module linearizes measured resistance values to return readings in temperature units within the available ranges of –200 to 850 °C, 73 to 1,123 K, and –328 to 1,562 °F. With this model, the user can connect various kinds of RTDs to each channel, since each channel can be configured independently.
The National Instruments FP-RTD-124 module offers a resolution of 0.016 °C and an update rate of 1 update/second per channel. In standard operating conditions, this RTD Module is supposed to draw 35 mW of power from a network module. As far as its data scaling options are concerned, this module offers scaling in resistance (Ω) or various temperature units (°C, °F, °K).
This FieldPoint RTD and Resistance Input Module is completely hot-swappable and is offered with auto configuration provisions. Thus, its installation and configuration process will not affect the user’s system. Another remarkable feature of this module is its built-in signal conditioning capability, which is a function of its 50/60 Hz noise rejection filters.
