National Instruments 785586-01 FlexRIO IF Transceiver.

The National Instruments 785586-01 (PXIe-5785) is a high performance 2x2-channel FlexRIO IF transceiver designed for demanding RF applications. It provides 12 bit resolution generation up to 3 GHz and direct RF acquisition up to 6 GHz. This makes it appropriate for uses requiring wideband signal processing and multichannel synchronization, such as radar, electronic warfare, and communications. Dual channel mode at 3.2 GS/s and single channel interleaved mode at 6.4 GS/s are supported by the transceiver.

Two single-ended channels with a 12-bit ADC are offered by the 785586-01, which can sample at up to 3.2 GS/s per channel or 6.4 GS/s in interleaved mode. The 500 kHz to 6 GHz input bandwidth is covered. The device has two single ended channels with a 12-bit DAC on the output side, allowing for a maximum update rate of 6.4 GS/s. The output bandwidth varies depending on the mode with dual channel mode supporting 3 MHz to 1.53 GHz and single channel mode supporting up to 2.85 GHz. This transceiver features a reconfigurable Xilinx Kintex UltraScale FPGA which enables users to implement custom real time signal processing algorithms. The KU060 FPGA includes a maximum of 331,680 LUTs, 2,760 DSP48 slices and 38.0 Mb of embedded block RAM. The onboard DRAM offers 4 GB of memory with a theoretical data rate of 17 GB/s and supports high speed data transfers and large data buffer requirements.

The digital I/O of the 785586-01 includes eight single ended channels with voltage families ranging from 1.2 V to 3.3 V, and it supports a maximum output toggle rate of 60 MHz. The device is equipped with high speed serial transceivers capable of data rates from 500 Mbps to 16.375 Gbps. The transceiver also includes various clock configuration options that allow users to synchronize their operations with external or internal clocks for precise timing control. The NI 785586-01 is designed for use in PXI Express systems, with a form factor that supports x4, x8 and x16 PXI Express or PXI Express hybrid slots. It operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and can withstand environmental conditions such as shock and vibration as per military standards.
