The National Instruments 787713-01 (PXIe-7890) FlexRIO Multifunction I/O Module is designed to support complex signal level inverter hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications. This module has a powerful Kintex Ultrascale FPGA coupled with a flexible combination of low latency analog outputs (AOs), digital I/O (DIO), and analog inputs (AIs). The module can accommodate several models of traction motors thanks to its high-speed serial interfaces. The 787713-01 module offers 64 digital I/O channels with selectable voltage levels (3.3 V or 5 V) configurable per bank of 16 channels. Each channel allows for individual direction control and boasts a low latency of 25 ns. The digital inputs are protected with ± 15 V tolerance per line safeguarding the module against potential voltage spikes. The digital outputs can source or sink up to 4.0 mA with a maximum toggle rate of 10 MHz.
Analog outputs are provided across 16 single ended channels with a resolution of 16 bits and a maximum update rate of 2 MS/s. The module features an impressive slew rate of 20 V/µs and an output range of ± 10 V. The analog outputs are equipped with short circuit protection and have overvoltage protection up to ± 15 V when powered on. The low latency analog output section also offers 16 channels with a faster maximum update rate of 4 MS/s. Analog inputs on this NI 787713-01 module include 8 differential channels with a resolution of 16 bits and selectable input ranges up to ± 20 V. These inputs utilize a successive approximation register (SAR) ADC and offer a maximum sampling rate of 2 MS/s per channel. This 787713-01 module is equipped with a reconfigurable KU060 FPGA that features 331,680 LUTs and 2,760 DSP48 slices. The FPGA is supported by 4 GB of onboard DRAM which is split into two banks of 2 GB and offers a total data throughput of up to 17 GB/s.
