National Instruments PXIe-7890 PXI Multifunction I/O Module

The PXIe-7890 (Part Number: 787713-01) from National Instruments is a powerful FlexRIO Multifunction I/O Module that uses signal-level inverters for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications. This module offers versatile connectivity, boasting two SFF-8436 compliant QSFP connectors on the front panel to facilitate high-speed serial interfacing. In addition, the front panel of the NI PXIe-7890 features five 68-Pin VHDCI connectors for digital I/O, analog input, analog output, and low-latency analog output functions. Equipped with a Kintex Ultrascale FPGA (KU060), this multifunction I/O module can be configured to meet the needs of a variety of test and measurement applications. 

By combining the utility of the analog input, digital I/O, and low latency analog output with the FPGA, the PXIe-7890 is capable of accommodating a number of traction motor types. As a result, it is an incredibly useful tool for obtaining complete test coverage and recreating real-world simulations by both validating and verifying the function of electronic control units. The digital I/O of the module has 64 pins, facilitating a range of functions including transmitter inverted data input, receiver inverted data output, low power mode, and connection to the +3.3 V power supply.

Designed specifically for indoor use, the PXIe-7890 multifunction I/O module should be operated in environments where the temperatures range from 0 °C to 55 °C, with a noncondensing humidity range of 10% to 90%. When nonoperational, the module can be safely stored in an even wider temperature range of -40 °C to 71 °C, with a noncondensing humidity range of 5% to 95%.
