Part Number 778769-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments PCI-GPIB/LP GPIB Instrument Control Device. This device is a low-profile device that works with low-profile machines. comes equipped with the TNT family ASICs (specific controller depends on the manufactured date: TNT4882C for boards manufactured before 2003 and TNT5004 for those in later revisions). It supports data rates of >1.5 MB/s with IEEE 488.1 and >7.7 MB/s with the HS488 standard. 

The 778769-01 consumes about 300 mA of power from the +5 VDC rail during operation, eliminating the need for an external power source as it draws power directly from the host computer. The maximum power consumption is 450 mA. The device measures (4.87 in. × 2.54 in.) in physical dimensions, and also features an IEEE 488 24-pin connector or GPI. In addition, it uses a special cable to convert between the Micro D-Sub connector of the board and the GPIB connector

The 778769-01 is recommended for operation between temperatures of  0 °C to 55 °C at a relative humidity of  10% to 90%. Likewise, it can be stored at temperatures between -20 °C to 70 °C at a relative humidity of 5% to 95%. The device is engineered to comply with the safety standards for electrical equipment used in measurement, control, and laboratory applications, specifically adhering to IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CSA C22.2 No. 61010-1. The module also complies with the following EMC standards: EN 61326 (IEC 61326) with Class A emissions and basic immunity, as well as EN 55011 (CISPR 11) and AS/NZS CISPR 11, both of which specify Group 1, Class A emissions. 

When using the 778769-01, the user must adopt some safety measures. First, to avoid damage due to electric discharge, you must touch the antistatic plastic package to a metal part of your computer chassis before the module is removed from the package. Then, the computershould be turned off but plugged in to remain properly grounded.
