National Instruments GPIB-ENET Hardware kit for the ESP-488 (Engineering Software Package)
The GPIB-ENET (Part Numbers: 320910A-01) is a Hardware kit for the ESP-488 (Engineering Software Package) that enables IEEE488 device control. The GPIB-ENET connects to other system devices using an Ethernet connection and is compatible with IEEE 488.1 and IEEE488.2. The GPIB-ENET has the capability to run with several operating systems (Mac OS X, Linux, and Microsoft Windows).
The GPIB-ENET facilitates sharing of a singular GPIB system between several network users and allows users to control multiple test systems from a single point via a RJ-45 Ethernet I/O connection. Control of IEEE488 and network devices can be conducted from any location within the Ethernet‑based (LAN) TCP/IP network (Gigabit, 100BASE‑TX, 10BASE‑T). All devices can communicate, share 14 GPIB devices from multiple hosts, and control 100 GPIB-ENET/1000 interfaces.
The GPIB-ENET Hardware kit for the ESP-488 (Engineering Software Package), can be easily configured by users and offers a password-protected user interface. The GPIB-ENET comes with NI-488.2 software to permit reliable connection to third-party GPIB system items. The NI-488.2 partnered with the GPIB-ENET leverages network connectivity to improve functional control. GPIB-ENET Hardware kit for the ESP-488 (Engineering Software Package) hardware setup and operation is sensitive to the external environment (temperature, humidity, and elevation), vibration during times of operation and rest, and shock during operation.
The GPIB-ENET Hardware kit for the ESP-488 (Engineering Software Package) is a suitable solution for the following types of applications: network communication among IEEE 488 devices is required, one GPIB systems is shared by multiple users, test systems are controlled using only one point. The GPIB-ENET permits system access from any location.
The GPIB-ENET accomplishes Ethernet-based TCP/IP host and GPIB data transfers. The collective system employs an Ethernet connection to generate GPIB Talker/Listener/Controller. Network devices use the TCP/IP protocol. The GPIB-ENET gets power from an internal 100-120 VAC or 220-240 VAC supply and applies a full suite of GPIB control functions. With the GPIB-ENET Hardware kit for the ESP-488 (Engineering Software Package), one GPIB system can be shared by several hosts and control over test systems can be maintained.
