National Instruments PC/104-GPIB GPIB Instrument Control Device

The NI PC/104-GPIB (Part Numbers: 778041-01, 778041-02, 777414-01, 777415-01, 776946-01) is an IEEE 488 (GPIB) Interface designed for industrial applications. This plug-and-play device performs all the primary IEEE 488 Controller, Listener, and Talker functions needed by the IEEE 488.2. The National Instruments PC/104-GPIB is a high-performance, affordable option in a PC/104 module. This device is available in both 8-bit and 16-bit versions with several variations for multiple operating systems.

The PC/104-GPIB GPIB Instrument Control Device and the legacy AT-GPIB/TNT are identical functionally. These two devices are register and software compatible. This GPIB Device can be equipped with a 20" ribbon cable. The free end of the ribbon cable is terminated with a panel-mount type standard GPIB connector. Thus, the user can easily connect the PC/104-GPIB with as many as 14 instruments through standard GPIB cables. Users willing to have more than 14 instruments connected to a single system can acquire a bus expander or extender from National Instruments.

This device is offered with a fully Plug & Play aware, 32-bit multitasking driver. This industrial-grade GPIB Instrument Control Device comes with 11 jumper-selectable interrupt lines and three 16-bit DMA channels. The NI PC/104-GPIB can easily be installed and configured on most versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. While operating in the standard configuration, this device requires 50 mA to 100 mA of power. The NI PC/104-GPIB device can offer > 1.5 Mbytes/s while operating in interlocked handshake mode and > 1.6 Mbytes/s while operating in non-interlocked handshake mode (HS488).

PC/104-GPIB Obsolete Status has been declared by National Instruments, but the device will still be available for purchase and repairs at Apex Waves.
