National Instruments IC-3171 Industrial Controller

The NI IC-3171 (Part Number: 784963-01 and 784964-01) is an Industrial Controller featured with Reconfigurable I/O. This microprocessor based model comes equipped with a 1.91 GHz Intel Celeron 3765U and offers support for two 64-bit operating systems: Windows Embedded Standard 7 and National Instruments Linux Real-Time.

This Industrial Controller has a DDR3L type 4 GB system RAM that can perform read/write operations at 1600 MT/s. The National Instruments IC-3171 comes equipped with a 7 XC7K160T reconfigurable FPGA from Xilinx Kintex. This FPGA offers 202,800 flip-flops, 101,400 6-input LUTs, and 600 DSP48E1 slices. Moreover, the FPGA has 32 DMA channels and 32 logical interrupts.

Since this controller has four PoE-capable network ports, the NI IC-3171 is more advanced than its predecessors. Each one of these ports can supply 15.4 Watts of power.  The PoE-capable Network Ports incorporated in this model are IEEE 802.3af (PoE) compatible. In addition, two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports are provided to make this unit capable of universal serial bus based communications with other devices.  

The USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports provided can operate at 480 Mbit/s and 5 GB/s speed respectively. This National Instruments Industrial Controller has the capability of attaching two external display devices, since it comes with 2 display ports that can operate at a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz. All the isolated digital inputs and outputs on this Industrial Controller can be accessed through one front panel mounted 44-pin Digital I/O Connector.
