Featured with a Dual-Core Intel Core-i7-5650U Processor, the NI IC-3173 (Part Numbers: 784227-01, 784970-01, 784965-01, 784966-01, and 785270-01) is a compact Industrial Controller. This high-performance, fanless model is designed to provide a comprehensive range of connectivity opportunities and an alleviated level of processing power- always desired for complicated control and automation applications in challenging industrial environments.
The real power of the IC-3173 Industrial Controller resides on the front panel that contains four PoE (Power over Ethernet) compatible Gigabit Ethernet ports, one RS-232/RS-485 serial port, one standard Gigabit Ethernet Port, two USB 3.0 ports, two DisplayPort connectors, and four USB 2.0 ports. In addition, a 44-pin Digital I/O port is provided on the front panel.
The power DisplayPort connectors incorporated in this model can easily be used to connect multiple monitors for the implementation of a local human machine interface (HMI) for the Industrial Controller. Through a suitable adaptor cable, the user can link each one of the two DisplayPort connectors to a DVI or VGA connector.
The NI IC-3173 automatically supplies power through the PoE ports when a PoE capable is detected as plugged. However, non-PoE Ethernet devices can still be used with the PoE Ethernet ports incorporated in this Industrial Controller. This controller comes equipped with a Kintex-7 160T FPGA. The IC 3173 is available in two versions by ruggedness: IP 20 or IP 67. The dimensions of the IP20 rated version are 17.4 cm × 9.3 cm × 16.8 cm.
