National Instruments 779114-01 PXI Multifunction I/O Module
The National Instruments 779114-01, also known as the PXI-6224, is a flexible PXI Multifunction I/O Module that is intended to provide dependable, affordable data acquisition (DAQ) capabilities for a variety of applications, such as research, design verification/test, manufacturing test, and laboratory automation. To offer complete measurement solutions, this module combines digital triggering, two 32-bit counter/timers, correlated digital I/O, and analog input.
With a 16-bit ADC resolution, the analog input of the 779114-01 has 32 single-ended or 16 differential channels. At a maximum sample rate of 250 kS/s per channel, it delivers precise and high-speed data acquisition. In addition to accommodating diverse signal levels with input ranges of ±0.2 V, ±1 V, ±5 V, and ±10 V, the device's differential nonlinearity (DNL) performance ensures that no codes are lost. Additionally, the module has a maximum operating voltage of ±11 V for analog inputs and a narrow signal bandwidth of 700 kHz.
For digital I/O, the 779114-01 provides 48 channels, divided into 32 channels on Port 0 and 16 Programmable Function Interface (PFI) channels. Because each channel can be individually configured as an input or output, it can be flexible enough to meet different needs for digital signals. The module is protected from voltage spikes by the device, which guarantees input voltage protection of ±20 V on up to two pins.
The 779114-01consists of two general-purpose 32-bit counter/timers that can measure two-edge separation, pulse, semi-period, period, and edge counting. Along with output applications including pulse generation, pulse train with dynamic updates, frequency division, and equivalent time sampling, it allows position measurements using X1, X2, and X4 quadrature encoding. With an external base clock frequency ranging from 0 MHz to 20 MHz and a base clock accuracy of 50 ppm, the internal base clocks run at 80 MHz, 20 MHz, and 0.1 MHz.
