National Instruments 779618-01 Multifunction I/O Module
National Instruments designed the 779618-01, or PXI-6232, a highly adaptable bank-isolated data acquisition (DAQ) device. It has two 32-bit counters, eight analog input (AI) channels, four analog output (AO) channels, six lines of digital input (DI), and four lines of digital output (DO). It is intended for voltage input and output (I/O). This multifunctional module is perfect for test, measurement, control, and design applications since it performs well in conditions with high voltages and electrical noise.
The 779618-01 DAQ module uses cutting-edge timing, amplification, and calibration technologies in its construction to provide precise control and accurate measurements. The device controls digital I/O signals, digitizes signals, and carries out digital-to-analog (D/A) conversions to produce analog output signals. Its performance is improved by the addition of the DAQ-STC2 digital engine, which provides different triggering modes, independent AI and AO FIFOs, configurable AI and AO sample and convert time, and the capacity to produce and route RTSI signals for device synchronization. In addition, two programmable 32-bit counter/timer modules with hardware gating, static DIO signals, a PLL for clock synchronization, and independent scatter-gather DMA controllers for all acquisition and generation tasks are supported by this digital engine. It also facilitates the generation and routing of external and internal timing signals.
In order to provide high precision and stability over time and temperature changes, the module's analog inputs and outputs are equipped with calibration circuitry that corrects gain and offset faults. As part of its internal self-calibration mechanism, the 779618-01 has factory-calibrated constants saved in an immutable region of the onboard EEPROM. With the ability to restore factory settings via software, users can store new calibration constants in an EEPROM area that can be modified.
With its 16-bit resolution for both ADC and DAC, the 779618-01 ensures that no codes are lost thanks to its single analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and multiplexers (MUX) that direct AI channels to the ADC through the NI-PGIA. Its six input and four output digital I/O channels are unidirectional with fixed direction control and support signals up to 24 V.
