National Instruments 779630-01 Multifunction I/O Module

The National Instruments 779630-01 Multifunction I/O Module is a member of the PXI-6229 series. This module can be used for a wide range of tasks, from design verification and manufacturing tests to laboratory automation and research, due to its flexible analog and digital I/O capabilities, two 32-bit counter/timers, and digital triggering.

Each of the 16 differential or 32 single-ended analog input channels on the 779630-01 module has a 16-bit ADC resolution. For both aggregate multichannel and single-channel modes, the analog inputs provide a maximum sampling rate of 250 kS/s. It can handle many kinds of signals since the input range may be adjusted to ±0.2 V, ±1 V, ±5 V, and ±10 V. A solid performance in crucial applications is also ensured by the module, which also verifies that no codes are missing.

The 779630-01 has four analog output channels with a 16-bit DAC resolution as part of its output capabilities. The 779630-01 has two general-purpose 32-bit counter/timers in addition to digital and analog I/O. Numerous measures are supported by these counters, such as two-edge separation, pulse, semi-period, period, and edge counting. They also provide dynamic pulse train production, frequency division, and location measurements with X1, X2, and X4 quadrature encoding. Internal base clock frequencies of 80 MHz, 20 MHz, and 0.1 MHz, as well as external base clock frequencies of up to 20 MHz, are supported for the counters.

Data transfers via USB with USB Signal Stream and programmed I/O, and PCI/PXI with DMA, interrupts, and programmable I/O are supported by the module. Users may easily configure and manage their data collection duties thanks to the NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility, which make setup and integration simpler.
