The NI SMD-7620 (Part Number: 783013-01) is a Stepper Motion Drive Device for use with the National Instruments Motion Controllers. This device is designed to work with 24 V to 48 V power supplies and can provide the motor with a current range of 0.1 A to 5 A. The NI SMD-7620 comes featured with a set of powerful I/O, as well as standard Ethernet connectivity. You can access, configure, and control this device over your existing local area network by using the Ethernet port of the SMD-7620.
This device has low-speed and high-speed digital inputs. The high-speed digital inputs are provided for 5 V to 24 V logic, direction, and step commands. The low-speed digital inputs can be used for various kinds of sourcing, sinking, or differential signals. The high-speed inputs of the NI SMD-7620 usually connect to a motion controller that provides direction and step command signals.
This Stepper Motion Drive Device features 2 digital outputs that can be configured to indicate a specific fault condition or to control the breaking mechanism of the connected motor. Moreover, you can also program these digital outputs to drive relays, inputs, and LEDs of counters, PLCs, and other electronic devices.
