The PXIe-PCIe8381 (Part Number: 782522-01) is a PCI Express Gen 2 x8 MXI-Express interface kit for PXI Express remote control applications. This kit supports cable lengths up to 7 meters and offers software-transparent links that do not require programming. In the standard configuration, the NI PXIe-PCIe8381 kit consists of a PCIe-8381 (installed in a host PC) connected via copper cable to a PXIe-8381 (installed in the PXI Express chassis). The PXIe host device included in this kit features a single-port connection and supports communication via a copper x8 PCI Express Gen 2 link.
The PXIe-PCIe8381 is an ideal solution for remote control of PXI Express systems. This MXI-Express Kit delivers up to 3.2 GB/s of sustained throughput in each direction. The kit modules work exclusively with MXI-Express x8 copper cables. Each module in the kit has 1 port. Additional PXI Express chassis can be connected by installing another PCIe-8381 in a compatible slot. By using the PXIe-8384 MXI-Express Daisy-Chain module, remote control of a multi-chassis system with the NI PXIe-PCIe8381 MXI-Express Kit is also possible.
