The NI PXI-6542 can be used with a Digital Waveform Editor, an intuitive programming instrument for making and altering advanced waveforms, that allows the user to import existing test designs from mainstream spreadsheets and VHDL recreation bundles into ASCII or dump value changes (VCD) formats. Once imported, the user can see the waveforms graphically and alter them intelligently for new gadgets or requirements and similarity. The user can likewise fabricate new waveforms with built-in padding patterns, such as, pseudo-irregular bit-streams (PRBS) and count patterns up/down. When the user is prepared to test their gadget, the waveforms will be transported in without issues in NI LabVIEW, LabVIEW SignalExpress, and C. The Digital Waveform Editor is incorporated with the 8 and 64 Mbit/channel memory models and is an extra feature for use with the 1 Mbit/channel version.
