National Instruments SH68-68-EP Shielded Digital Cable

The National Instruments SH68-68-EP (Part Numbers: 192061-01, 192061-02, 192061-05, 192061-0R5, 192061-10, 186838-01, 186838-02, 186838-0R5) is a shielded 68-conductor cable that may be connected to a range of 68-pin E Series NI60xxE devices, with the exception of DAQCards. It is terminated with two 68-pin female SCSI 0.050 D-Type connectors. For numerous NI Multifunction I/O modules and devices that include the SCSI 0.050 D-Type connector, this cable guarantees flawless compatibility.

In order to provide effective data transfer and signal integrity, the SH68-68-EP cable was designed especially for use with Series, E Series, S Series, and B Series devices. A variety of lengths of this cable are available: 1 meter (part number 184749-01), 2 meters (part number 184749-02), 5 meters (part number 184749-05), and 10 meters (part number 184749). The SH68-68R1-EP is suggested as a substitute for applications that need a right-angle connector.

Each shielded analog input pair on the SH68-68-EP cable has a mutual capacitance of up to 25.5 pF/ft and a differential impedance of 66 ± 8 Ohms at TDR. When the conductor DC resistance is at its greatest at 20 °C, the time delay for these pairings is typically 1.60 ns/ft. Minimum interference and dependable transmission of analog signals are guaranteed by these criteria.

The dual twisted pairs in the SH68-68-EP cable have a maximum mutual capacitance of 17.5 pF/ft and a differential impedance of 100 ± 15 Ohms at TDR. DC resistance of the conductor is 0.070 Ohms/ft at 20 °C, and the time delay for digital twisted pairs is likewise 1.60 ns/ft. This structure provides consistent performance for high-speed digital communication.

Digital single conductors with a maximum conductor DC resistance of 0.070 Ohms/ft at 20 °C are also included in the cable. In addition, 20 AWG conductors are used in the construction of the +5 V lines, offering a conductor DC resistance of 0.012 Ohms/ft at 20 °C at its maximum, guaranteeing sufficient power delivery for linked devices.
