The National Instruments SCXI-1383 (Part Numbers: 776577-835, 776577-832, 776577-836, 776577-834, 776577-831) is a float charger and 13.8 VDC power supply intended for use in industrial automation applications. With a frequency of 50/60 Hz and a broad input voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC, it provides versatility in a range of power input situations. Because of its small size (16.5 by 8.0 by 5.7 cm), it may be used in spaces with limited space.
This power supply provides a stable output voltage between 13.8 and 13.95 V, ensuring reliable operation of connected equipment such as the SCXI-1000DC chassis. Depending on the battery voltage, it can give a charging current of 3.7 to 4.5 A, which allows the SCXI-1382 battery pack to be efficiently recharged in 12 to 14 hours. With multiple protections, such as short circuit and reverse polarity protection, the SCXI-1383 protects the user and the equipment. In order to protect against overcurrent conditions, it also has an auto-recovery circuit and an integrated fuse.
The three main purposes of the SCXI-1383 are to power the SCXI-1000DC chassis directly, charge the SCXI-1382 battery pack, and provide continuous operation by float charging the SCXI-1382 battery pack while concurrently powering the SCXI-1000DC chassis. When it comes to power availability, charging status, and possible issues like a completely charged battery or a need for repair, the green LED display makes things very apparent.
The SCXI-1383 complies with strict requirements for electrical equipment used in measurement, control, and laboratory environments, including IEC 61010-1 and UL 3111-1 safety standards.
