National Instruments PC-OPDIO-16 Digital I/O Board

The PC-OPDIO-16 is an 8 input, 8 output, optically isolated Digital I/O Board. The NI PC-OPDIO-16 is manufactured by National Instruments. The There are two cable termination accessory kits that can be used with this board: the CB-50 or CB-50LP. The kits are comprised of a connector block and a terminated, 50-conductor, flat ribbon cable. The PC-OPDIO-16 is software configurable. Usually two types of configuration are performed on a DAQ board: bus related configurations and data acquisition configurations. This Digital I/O Board works in two different modes: Plug and Play Mode and switchless mode.  

The National Instruments PC-OPDIO-16 requires a maximum of 1.5 mA current per channel to operate at 5 V and 7.0 mA current per channel at 24 V. The PC-OPDIO-16 has a data transfer rate of 1 kHz and has isolation of 24 VDC from computer ground. The NI PC-OPDIO-16 has a maximum input voltage of 24 VDC or 24 VAC.

The PC-OPDIO-16 contains different interfaces, including an address bus, a data bus, a Plug and Play interface, as well as several control and support signals. This Digital I/O Board supports 8-bit digital inputs, as well as 8-bit digital outputs. The 16 bits are configured as two 8-bit ports, one for input and the other port for output.  

The NI PC-OPDIO-16 is an economical I/O board ideal for laboratory tests and industrial measurements. The hardware compatibility of this Digital I/O Board includes different National Instruments DAQ and SCXI devices.  The National Instruments PC-OPDIO-16 is compatible with multiple types of software for performing tasks. These software types include LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW, and NI-DAQ.

PC-OPDIO-16 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the board will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
