National Instruments PCIe-1427 Frame Grabber
The PCIe-1427 (Part Number: 779706-01, 192823-01) is a Camera Link image acquisition device manufactured by National Instruments. It is intended for use in scientific and machine vision applications that need digital images with high resolution and simple cabling. With its onboard programmable region of interest, picture binarization, and separated digital I/O, it interfaces with any base-configuration Camera Link camera with ease. Real-time digital image acquisition and direct system memory transfer are supported by this incredibly adaptable device for Base configuration Camera Link-compatible cameras. Scientific and industrial environments equally benefit greatly from the PCIe-1427's fast data channel.
Installation and configuration are made easy with the included NI Vision Acquisition Software, featuring NI-IMAQ driver software. This software allows direct control of the device without needing to program at the register level. Camera files, validated by National Instruments, come pre-installed with the driver software, configuring the PCIe-1427 with camera output format information. With Camera Link compatible cameras, the gadget has an MDR 26-pin connector. For triggers or high-speed digital I/O, four extra TTL input/output lines are furthermore provided via a 15-pin D-SUB connector. Additionally, two optically isolated inputs and two RS-422 inputs are available through the D-SUB connection when not in use. These inputs can be utilized individually as single-ended or differential lines, or combined to form a quadrature encoder port. The NI Camera Link I/O Extension Board provides more I/O lines and is available for sophisticated triggering and isolated digital I/O requirements.
The PCIe-1427 makes use of the Real-Time System Integration (RTSI) bus to synchronize several devices, including data acquisition and motion control devices. This bus routes timing and trigger signals between the PCIe-1427 and up to four National Instruments Vision, DAQ, or Motion Control devices. It is made possible by the National Instruments RTSI bus interface and ribbon cable. The NI-IMAQ driver software is needed in order to program the PCIe-1427. National Instruments provides software packages such as NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection and NI Vision Development Module that enable customized control over hardware and algorithms for additional analysis and processing of obtained pictures.
