National Instruments 783850-01 CompactRIO Controller
The National Instruments 783850-01 CompactRIO Controller is a part of the cRIO-9038 model series, designed for advanced control and monitoring applications in rugged environments. This fanless, embedded controller features a 1.33 GHz dual-core Intel Atom E3825 CPU, 2 GB of DRAM, and 8 GB of solid-state storage. Its robust design includes a Kintex-7 160T FPGA, offering substantial processing power for real-time applications, all operating under the NI Linux Real-Time OS.
To improve its functioning, the 783850-01 supports a number of connecting options. It has two RS-232 serial connections, two USB host ports, one USB device port, and two tri-speed RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet connectors. Because of these ports, the controller can be used with a variety of peripherals and communication devices, increasing its versatility. The NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) can be used to personalize the Ethernet ports, which are initially set up to automatically receive an IP address. A local human-machine interface (HMI) can also be connected to the Mini DisplayPort, allowing for direct interaction with the system for development and monitoring purposes at a maximum resolution of 2560 × 1600 at 60 Hz.
A 32 GB removable storage capacity is supported by the SD card slot on this CompactRIO controller, which is compatible with both SD and SDHC standards. For dependable performance in a range of industrial settings, the device is equipped with a power connector that is intended for both primary and secondary power supply. It is even more suitable for tough environments because of its wider temperature range.
For use with particular software needs, the 783850-01 is optimized. It is compatible with LabVIEW versions 2014 and higher, as well as versions of the LabVIEW Real-Time Module and FPGA Module starting in 2014. It works with Eclipse Version 2014 or later for C/C++ development. NI CompactRIO and Drivers August 2014 or later are also necessary for the controller to operate properly.
