National Instruments 778737-01 PXI RF Signal Upconverter
The National Instruments 778737-01, often referred to as the PXI-5610, is a high-performance PXI RF signal upconverter designed to frequency-translate intermediate frequency (IF) input signals to the desired radio frequency (RF). This device is a great option for integration with modular function generators for RF generating applications because to its large real-time bandwidth and very stable timebase.
The 778737-01's internal frequency reference is one of its main features. With a maximum temperature stability of ± 20 ppb, it functions at a frequency of 10 MHz. Additionally, the instrument shows very little aging, with a maximum variance of ± 100 ppb annually and ± 1 ppb daily after 72 hours. The maximum accuracy that may be achieved at first is ± 50 ppb. Additionally, the upconverter has a maximum lock period of 5 seconds and a minimum locking range of ±0.5 ppm to an external reference. A signal of 1 ± 0.1 Vpk-pk (6.7 dBm into a 50 Ω load) is also provided by the 10 MHz reference output.
The 778737-01 has a power range of -145 dBm to +10 dBm with a typical resolution of 1 dB. Its amplitude settling time is very short; on average, it takes 5 milliseconds to reach 0.1 dB. Within the vector modulation bandwidth, the group delay deviation is typically ± 20 ns, and the bandwidth flatness is typically ± 0.5 dB. The upconverter module's group delay is typically 1,200 nsec.
With a maximum reverse RF power tolerance of 4 W and a maximum DC input of ± 50 VDC, the 778737-01 also has overload protection on the RF output. The device's Local Oscillator (LO) output 0 operates within the frequency range of 3.2 GHz to 5.9 GHz, producing a maximum Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) of 1.5:1 and a typical power output of -22 dBm.
The 778737-01 RF signal upconverter is a popular device used in numerous RF applications, such as signal intelligence, telecommunications, and radar systems.
